I am a neolibertarian minded individual who feels that freedom and individual rights take precedence over the wants of government. I believe government exists to serve the people and not to protect us from ourselves. I am an advocate for private firearms ownership, smaller government, reduced taxes and freedom to live your life however you choose, providing you do not directly hurt others.

A Feast For Crows
This latest installment of Gearge R. R. Martin's "A Song of Fire and Ice" series isn't quite as gripping as the previous books but is still a pretty good read.

Book 10 in the Sword of Truth series continues to keep the reader riveted while repeatedly emphasizing the duty and importance of self defense.

Update on Mark Wilson Texas Shooting

I finally found a link to share with you that gives a little more information on Mr. Wilson engaging the shooter. It's from the Tyler Morning Telegraph, the local town paper for where the shootings occurred.

Here are some quotes:

For several minutes, Arroyo, clad in a bulletproof vest and a military flak jacket, sprayed the courthouse with bullets and exchanged gunfire with law enforcement officers and at least one citizen, who attempted to stop the man.

Arroyo's ex-wife, Maribel Estrada, 41, and Mark Allen Wilson, 52, a citizen who engaged Arroyo with his handgun, were pronounced dead at the scene.

The son of Arroyo and Mrs. Estrada, 23-year-old David Arroyo Jr., and several law enforcement officers caught up in the firefight were injured.

Smith County sheriff's deputies Sherman Dollison, 28, and Marlin Suell, 38, and Tyler police Officer Clay Perrett all suffered gunshot wounds during the ensuing gunbattle.

Smith County Sheriff's Office Maj. Mike Lusk said he believes Wilson, who was a licensed concealed gun carrier, hit Arroyo multiple times at close range, but was unsure whether any of Wilson's shots penetrated the body armor.

"We believe from the autopsy that Wilson may have hit Arroyo at least once in the groin area," Lusk said. "There is evidence that not many of the shots fired by Wilson or the officers missed their mark, but they were hitting the armor."
