I finally decided to give Mozilla Firefox a try in place of Microsoft Internet Explorer. I wish that I would have done so a long time ago. In addition to better security, a simpler interface and some really nice features, it also makes pages load faster! The link in the above title is to a Washington Post article that lists many reasons why you should consider switching to Mozilla. My top reasons are:
- Faster
- More Secure and Private
- Better features (including built in search menu in main browser display, and the ability to control-click on links and have them open in new tabs within the same browser window so you don't need so many windows listed in your task bar)
- Built in pop-up blocking
- It's a way to tweak the nose of Microsoft and their often bloated, poorly supported, bug infested hacker prone software
As you can tell from my support of the Libertarian Party and third parties in general, I'm the kind of person who likes to go with the little guy on the market if they provide a superior product and especially if they make the big players work harder to keep their consumers and constituents. I like AMD CPU's, open source software and now I especially like Mozilla Firefox. Give it a try!
A quick free download followed by a painless installation process (it even imports your existing bookmarks, favorites and history) and you should be good to go.
